Well it's that time again...tutor retest time! I had my test today with Roger Ware, as I live in Uffculme, and he lives in Willand. We met at Willand village hall at 10am, and after a short chat, I was asked it I had done a vehicle check. I was asked to through it as if he was a new member. Once demonstrated, we were out of the car park and onto the road, with a slight alteration to the route as a bin lorry was parked in the traffic calming area. As such, a short diversion was necessary.
After getting back on track we heading to Halberton, passing through this small village. We then continued to Tiverton, passing Blundells school and going around the outskirts of the town. We headed towards Exeter, on the A396. Entering Bickleigh I had to negotiate the narrow bridge over the river Exe, (but no stopping at the Fisherman's Cot though)!
After travelling along the A396 for a few miles, I was asked to take the next road
on the left. I was warned of this road by a warning sign just before I entered the
bend, I looked in my mirror and there was a vehicle close behind me, so I had to
do an overlap procedure, as the road was just after the bend and it was quite
narrow. Following the road into Silverton, I was asked to take the second exit off the mini
roundabout, and this road was fortunately slightly wider. It brought us out onto the B3181,
passing Killerton House. Turning left at junction onto the main road we entered
Cullompton. At the main lights I turned right towards (and entering) the motorway. I later exited the motorway at junction 27, proceeding back along the B3181 to Willand Village Hall.
After a short chat with Roger I was pleased to hear him say that it was a good drive, and I was staying as an Advanced Tutor at a gold standard!
After telling me that, he also said that I was his first person to go for a test since the lock down (we both of course wore masks). The test lasted about an hour, and it was 30 miles in distance.
